I have been consulting with CUPP this academic year about a new childbearing/childrearing leave policy for faculty. I have received feedback on the proposed policy throughout the year from CUPP, chairs and directors of academic programs, and a number of individual faculty members. The policy is now in the final stages of development and recently has been sent to the University Counsel for review.

I anticipate implementing this new policy at the beginning of the 2008-09 academic year.
